Dandelions and more........

This little flower I found today grows wild around the yard. I am not sure what it is I assume it's just a fancy flowering weed. Although it may be I still find it a visual beauty.

I also have on my farm two sour cherry trees which the birds just love plus, two types of concord grapes that grow along the fences around the house. The purple concords I make jellies and concord grape juice. The white are used in wines.

It's around July when I really get busy canning. I also have a huge mulberry tree. I pick the mulberries wash them and eat them like m&m's.

I love dandelions...I can remember when I was little we would put them under our chins to see who's would turn the yellowest. I really love it when I see a field covered with them. A huge palete of yellow.

Signs of Spring are here

I just learned something interesting by adding photos. It's funny no matter how old you are you never stop learning. This photo is another I took today, it's where I plant my huge organic garden. It is now ready to start my cool weather veggies. I love the country!

For me spring has always been my favorite time of year. The rebirth of everything living always amazes me and keeps me grateful to be able to be a part of it. I am so lucky to have a farm that houses so many different fruits. This pic is of a green apple tree that has just started to bloom.

It makes delicious apple pies and wonderful apple sauce!

Second Reader Sketch Done

I finally finished my new Reader illustration. I added Benson the bunny at the last minute. When I sketch I always have an idea twirling in my mind and as I put it to paper it just keeps evolving.
So here it is completed and posted in my shop. Enjoy.

Just Posted Sophie the Elephant

I am so excited about my new illustrated cards with Benson the Bunny and Sophie the Elephant, Benson's friend. I simply sat down one night and the image of Sophie just came into my mind. I pictured her very feminine with her polka dot bow she supports on her head.

I was really thrilled at how Sophie turned out. As a bias creative mom to sophie I love her!

Belle and Boo I love the Illustrations

I am always amazed by the talent behind belleandboo's illustrator Mandy S. designs artwork that makes you want to own everyone. Mandy illustrations inspire me to keep sketching and striving to improve my natural ablities.

You must drop by her shop and see her new illustration she class On the Farm. I hope I got the title correct. My apologizes if I got it wrong. I suppose I should double check to make sure. As I get older and my days of sketching get more involved I find I retain less and less.

I keep a journal everyday so I am reminded of all the things I did in my day. Life keeps us so busy we often forget from moment to moment. I write it down as it's a huge part of who I am.

Thank you Mandy for all the lovely work! Check her work at www.belleandboo.etsy.com

Here is One more Etsy store I found interesting!

The luckybeepress is just too cute! I love all the vintage illustrations she puts on cards. She also does them by hand on a vintage platen letterpress.
The two above are just adorable and she has so many more! You can see her work at www.luckybeepress.etsy.com
Buying a card for someone is truly "the biggest little thing you can do."

Check out Storybymia another favorite

I just love this little blue bird I found on Etsy by storybymia.etsy.com as I said I am a fan of paper art. This shop offers personalized cards and they are all so elegantly done. I can tell she puts a lot of love in what she does. I also love the colors she uses.

Searching Etsy what I found interesting

I love to just browse around Etsy to see how creative people can be. The mind is an extrodinary tool. I came across this site 'creativepapertrail" and fell in love with her work. I could tell immediately she loves what shes doing. It was really hard to pick a picture to post as so many items in her shop were beautiful. Take a peek I am sure you'll love it too things don't last long in her shop.

What's up for Spring!

Introducing a new line of cards for spring with a new little character named Benson. He will be appearing on many cards and pdf stationary files. Benson will make his debut in my shop this week. In fact, he is currently in the works coming to life with spring colors.
The cards will be white with rounded corners and white envelopes to match. The stationary will be in pdf file form so you can make as many copies as you like right from your own computer. No waiting for them to arrive in the mail.
There will be more new items arriving as we get further into spring so be sure to check back often.
